All patients are seen by appointment only. All patients must have a primary care physician (family doctor, gynecologist, urgent care practice, etc.). You can download forms to be completed before your initial visit or we can mail these to you. If you have filled these out prior to your appointment please arrive 15 minutes beforehand. If not filled out, please arrive 30 minutes early in order to do so. Please bring your most recent insurance card. Failing to do so will prolong your registration and limit your time with Dr. Medoff.

If it becomes necessary to cancel your appointment, please call us a minimum of 24 hours ahead of your appointment so other patients can be scheduled at that time. Please bring your calendar with you as well in order to schedule any tests, procedures, or return visits that may be necessary.

Items to bring with you:
  • Completed history form
  • Photo ID (driver’s license)
  • Insurance card (most recent)
  • Personal calendar
  • List of medications
  • Related medical information (medical records, test results, x-rays, medical power of attorney, advance directives, etc.)
  • Payment (cash, check, charge card)

Emergency Coverage

It is very important that you understand the emergency coverage provided by Medoff Medical. Dr. Medoff remains the only solo gastroenterologist in Greensboro.  He chose this form of practice because of his focus on and dedication to his patients. However it does have its limitations, most importantly when it comes to emergency care.  Covering his practice 24/7 for the past 15 years, Dr. Medoff has been and remains by far the most available GI physician in the area.  But he does not provide someone else to cover his practice when he is away and physically not available.  What this means is that if Dr. Medoff is away when one of our patients has an emergency, that patient would need to seek care at one of our local Urgent Care or hospital facilities.

Prescriptions are only refilled during regular office hours. Please call your pharmacist first with your prescription number. The pharmacist will call us if additional refills are needed. Allow at least two hours before contacting your pharmacy to verify that your refills have been approved. Medications cannot be refilled without regular checkups. A request for prescription refills should be placed between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Phone Calls

It is not possible for Dr. Medoff to answer each call personally. We try our best to have our staff answer each call.  Please discuss the purpose of your call with the phone operator and be prepared to leave your name and number.  If there is a medical concern our nurse will return your call as soon as possible. If you have an urgent message after 4:30 pm, please follow the recorded directions on the office phone to notify Dr. Medoff. Non-emergency calls placed after 4:00 pm may be handled on the next working day.

Medical Records

How can I obtain a copy of my medical records?
To obtain a copy of your medical record you will need to sign and date a Medical Records Release form. Once we receive the signed form, your records can be prepared then mailed, faxed , or picked up at the office.

Can anyone else receive my health care information?
Each patient will receive an AUTHORIZATION TO RELEASE HEALTH CARE INFORMATION form at the time of their visit to Medoff Medical, and this will outline with whom medical information may be shared. This form is signed and dated and is good for five (5) years and will not be changed unless a new form is completed.

Does my referring physician receive my report?
Yes. A copy of your office note and any procedure reports are automatically sent to the physician that referred you to Medoff Medical.
